I'm 24 and have wrikles at the corners of my lips. Help please?

admin August 23rd, 2011

OK, I knew they were there but I recently bought a new liquid powder whcih only highlighted how bad things are. I do now smoke or drink, use plenty of water but hate all the moisturizers and creams and all the other stuff you put on your face (except for powders lol). That’s the way i am, i hate all the fats you rub into your skin and avoid all that stuff except for gels and like, but haven’t found one that would provide moisture and nutrition for my skin as they usually are water based. So, is it because i do not care enough for my skin or what? Ain’t I a bit too young for wrinkles? And, they are really visible and they are not fine lines, just horizontal wrinkles that "extend" my lips and then go a bit downwards, tehy are like one or one and a half cm long so I’m really worried. Thanks in advance :)

What do you think of this chapter? be honest please?

Chapter One – The First Meeting

"So what do you think…?" she said, running her finger along the rim of her coffee glass. She tucked her ponytail behind her ear, and blew out the steams before folding her fingers around the glass.

"I-I don’t know…" I stuttered, fiddling with the menu nervously. She pulled down the scarf off her neck to expose her cleavage, and pressed her lips against the glass handle as she stared at me with her gorgeous eyes.

"I see you’re not interested then… I guess I should ask someone else" She mumbled, tilting the glass towards her lips to taste the whipped cream that started spilling out of it. Her Scottish beauty turned into a mask that camouflaged her expression. I wondered how many guys she had captivated with her alluring stare. I wanted to say yes, but something in her voice made me so reluctant that I decided to stay with my old decision.

"You’re thinking too hard young man" she continued, resting her chin on her palm and held up one finger to fling her blonde-pony over her shoulder. The color of her hair matched amazingly with her pale skin, rolling the edges of it around her finger as I spoke.

"Sorry Ma’am, but I don’t think you’re right about me. I will just disappoint you…" I claimed, shoving my chair away from the table to stand up. Her eyes flickered towards the waiter whose back faced me.
"Going somewhere?" she asked, fluttering her eyelashes like a model. Before I could response, the waiter showed up. A little smirk spread across his devious face.

"Can I help you sir?" I asked politely, looking up at him. He glared back at me, and quickly wrote down all what we had ordered on a sheet and flung it onto the table. It was the bill. He charged me for everything, even for what I had not ordered.

"This is our bill?"I asked as if I did not know. He brushed his bronze pony aside, trying to accentuate his innocent expression. His tightened tie contributed to achieve the modest appearance.

"What does it look like?" he asked sarcastically. I had only a few cents in my wallet, but I pretended to be fumbling for more. His eyes narrowed.

"Looking for something sir?" he asked in confusion.

"They must be here somewhere…" I mumbled. I started sweating, pushing up the sleeves of my shirt and running my hands down the full length of my jeans, nothing was found.
"Are you okay?" she asked, turning her head a half way to face me. "You don’t look so good…" She pulled out one hundred dollar bill out of her purse and threw it at the table. The bill skidded across it and stopped as it touched my elbow.

"Is it enough?" she asked without even looking at the bill. The waiter raised his eyebrow, looking at her purse, it was full of them.

"Yes, thanks Miss…?" he thanked her, waiting for her response.

"-Victoria" she answered before his tone echoed in the background. He squinted at me for a long moment, and crushed the bill angrily in his hairy-brown hand. It crumpled and wrinkled into a ball as he shoved it in his rear pocket, and turned his back at me.

"What’s his problem?" I hissed, looking over my shoulder to make sure he was not listening. She chuckled, zipping her purse a half way and dropping it under the table that the bills in it were scattered around the leg of the chair. Her expression was unreadable now. The laugh lines that constantly appeared on the edges of her lips showed she was being pleasant, but still, I was not sure.

"Problem?" she asked, sliding her fingers into the handle of her coffee glass, lifting it a bit while talking. "Oh I don’t think he has a problem, but maybe you do…" I opened my eyes widely. Her soft voice made this word sound as if having a problem was a good thing. I shook my head quickly and moved the handkerchief all the way along my lips to wipe off the sauce.

"Why should I have a problem?" I asked her, still holding it to hide my expression. She clasped her hands together and giggled stupidly.

"You’re dating a girl and expect her to pay for everything you ordered…"

Why is my body itching all over…?

admin July 27th, 2011

I recently had an allergic reaction to the dye I had put in my hair, even though I had done the skin test before using the dye.
twelve hours after applying the dye my face reacted in a rash with my eyes, lips and ears swollen.
A doctor then gave me some steroid and anti-histamine jabs and pririton tablets, saying that the swelling go away in about three days time.
My face continued to swell and distort until I could no-longer recognise myself
Some seven days later my GP reacted in horror and prescribed more Piriton tablets and a hydrocortisone cream for my skin and scalp.
Some twelve days later, my hair feels like someone has been trying to pull it out, my scalp is painful to the touch and I can feel scabs on my scalp and the backs of my ears.
The swelling has all but gone away although the skin around my eyes and forehead is red, irritated, dry and wrinkled.
My body "itches" all over….
I am applying the cream to no-avail
The itching From head to toe is driving me KRAZY…!!!!!!!!
Help.

Anti wrinkle lotion? What's the face cleaning process? Do fruits help face skin to be nicer?

admin July 2nd, 2011

I m 22 yrs old and started to notice fine lines on my forehead and on the outside of my lips. My skin is no longer healthy looking and supple as it used to be. I never really took care of my face or used any cleansers and/or moisturizers for that matter. I don’t use make up often either. I am starting to get concerned and would like some advise as to what is the best way to cleanse my face and take great care of it. I have heard stuff such a scrubs, foams, toners, moisturizers and on… what do I really need and in which order? What brand would you recommend? (remember my age) I do not have acne problems other than I am starting to experience lots of black heads on my nose, oily nose and sometimes forehead. Some one metioned Olay rejuvenating and/or antiwrinkle. I was also told to try Aveeno, Laneige, Estee Lauder, CLINIQUE. It’s confusing. Any idea which is best and really works in helping to prevent wrinkles and aids in getting a more healthy supple looking skin?
I have also heard that eating fruits contributes to a healthier more supple looking skin, is that true? If so, which fruits in particular? How many a day?

Skin feels like it is on fire. Docs can't help. What do I do?

admin April 23rd, 2011

Ok. I tried to post my entire history on here and realized a week later that it was trumped to ~20%

Ok. The short of this is…

The skin of my scrotum has burned for 6 months and a few days now.
The skin on my head, face, neck, shoulders and chest has burned for 3 months now.
The skin of the head, face, neck, shoulder and chest typically look healthy (no pink or redness. I am fair skinned.). They are only red if I wash several days in a row, but the skin burns 24/7 like a "carpet burn" or "indian rub burn." For the past month now, the skin has been so sensitive that I cannot wash it but every 2 or 3 days even with so called "sensitive skin soaps." I have ordered a different brand of sensitive skin soap nearly every week for the past 6 months (I bet you had no idea there were so many). I have tried the Eucerin, Basis & Vanicream that seem to be so popular, and many more including the rather exotic Neem Aura. Even shampoos hurt. I have tried several shampoos.

Also, I have seen a doc every 2 weeks for this — 6 different ones: 2 GPs, 2 urologists, 1 dermatologist, 1 neurologist. They are unable to offer any relief. LITERALLY NOTHING IMPROVES THE APPEARANCE OF THE SCROTUM. Nothing improves the sensitivity of all the areas besides leaving them alone for 2 days or more, but I have developed severe acne in doing so… at age 38!!! I have tried several things topically and orally for the pain, which while it is not usually intense, it is constant and annoying. The only thing that has helped with the pain is ice.

This week, my lips are beginning to burn. It seems whatever this is spreads slowly.

My questions are:

1) Any ideas anyone? It’s ok if you are not a medical professional or if you are. I hold noone liable here.

2) I am appaulled by both the apparent lack of compassion/sympathy and the apparent lack of competence by the doctors. Perhaps I do not know what to expect in medical care and expect too much. To the doctors’ credit, I will say that things don’t look bad 99% of the time (apart from the scrotum which looks only mildly red and excessively wrinkled and no longer "retreats" — EVER.). Only 1 of the 6 docs is even friendly, at least projecting a caring spirit. NONE of the docs have done any test except at my explicit request, and all of these test were from the nice GP. The dermatologist has never done a skin scrape or biopsy. Does this seem "good" medical practice? Is this "standard" medical practice? If not, what do I do? How do I get the medical care that I feel I deserve and that I am paying for?

I’d like to share a lot more details, but let’s see if this fits…

Hi has anyone got any ideas on helping smoking lines above the lips?

admin March 5th, 2011

I smoke and have got lines above my lips. The rest of my skin is ok. I don’t have wrinkles as such only the normal laughter lines you get as time slips by but the lines above my lips are quite noticeable. I know some of you are going to say stop smoking or you shouldn’t smoke but the fact is i did and i still do. Its not the easest thing to give up. I would like to know if anyone has any home remedies or even products that i can buy to help this. I use monet anti aging cream for face and eyes at the mo but would like something that concentrates on the area i have mentioned. Thanks very Much ann x

Questions about Oily Skin/Acne.?

admin February 11th, 2011

My skin is oily all over. I breakout mostly underneath my chin, jawline and temples.

Right now I’m using L’Oreal’s Go 360 Clean Cleanser, St. Ives Apricot Scrub and Clearesil Spot Treatment. My face is starting to get itchy around my lips. What should I do?

I read a lot of magazines and their tips for women in their 20’s is to start anti-aging products now so skin will look better in the future. But afraid of pores clogging up with acne treatments, night creams, eye creams, neck creams and all the other things that are supposed prevent wrinkles in the future. What should my nighttime regimen be so that my skin will look its best?

Make-up. I like the natural look- little foundation, blush, lipstick, mascara and eyeliner. Once again I get these things from magazines. Primer, Foundation, Concealer. Where does sunscreen go in that order? What is the best foundation formula for oily/acne skin? Concealer?

How do I get rid of pitted scars?

Why do people get botox?

admin January 28th, 2011

Why to people get botox? Okay, so forgive me, but I’m only sixteen years old. I don’t want to offend anyone who has had botox. I’m just merely curious. Why do you get it? Most people I’ve heard of having botox, seem to either hate it or others think they looked better before the botox. My aunt recently got botox and her lips look like the jokers… She used to be so pretty. I mean, she is still pretty, but less so. She doesn’t look happy about it, either. I just don’t understand. You’re already beautiful, so why do you try to mess with that? When I’m older, I will embrace my wrinkles. I think it’s a sign that I in fact lived a great life. Wrinkles are just a sign of getting older. Is that why people want to make them disappear? They don’t want to get older? Is that it? It seems like a lot of them want to look like they are 25 again… I would rather just look my age. Another thing, some of them wear way too much makeup. What happened to natural beauty? I don’t see any problem with using a little makeup, but some go way overboard. It’s like they’re wearing a face mask. Have you seen that Today Show episode where Kathy and Hoda bravely took off their makeup? Wow… You know, they didn’t necessarily look bad, but I think the reason they look so much better with makeup, is because over the years, the makeup actually messed up their skin or something. That’s why I just take care of my skin, instead of covering my face up. I don’t think makeup is all that healthy.

Anyway, I want to hear your opinions. When I’m older, if somebody says I should get botox, I’m going to slap them. I know there is a lot of pressure on famous people, but some of them need to learn how to respect themselves and see themselves as beautiful. I’ve heard that women as young as twenty are getting botox or using wrinkle cream… I’m sorry, but that’s just really sad.

Oh, by the way, I never see Meg Ryan in movies anymore. She mysteriously stopped after getting botox for her lips… I wonder if that’s the reason why she hasn’t been in many movies lately?
I have no problem with people using it for health purposes. I have a problem with people who use it just to make themselves ‘prettier’ or ‘younger’…

My skin is really Dry and has been like this for years!!?

admin November 24th, 2010

My skin has always been dry i mean since i was like 8. At least thats when i remember it was dry. Annywaayysss… My hands and face is really dry. My hands would be so dry that it would crack and bleed! My skin never got that dry tho. My skin had little white flakes around my lips. It would look like i drank milk like a pig and never cleaned it. I use this cream called "Nivea Cream" and it doesnt really say anything or what its for but i always used it on my face. it didnt have any instructions or ingrediants. After i while i started using Coconut Oil as a face moisterizer and my skin was fine ( not dry ) until today.

Earlier i noticed that the skin around my lips ( like the edges) was really dry. It was like white and red… There was white flaky parts and the skin was red. and it looks like it got wrinkled badly! how do i fix this! i thought it was just flour from my baking this morning but i washed it a couple of times and its not getting any better. i didnt use and creams or coconut oil. Its really dry. My hands can be cured with Aveeno cream. Aveeno works like magic for me. It fixed up the crack and my HAND never been so smooth. But i dont have aveeno face lotion! how do i fix my facE?! i only have 9 days until school starts! oh nooess!
I drink LOTS of water. to a point where im in the washroom, then by the time i wash my hands i have to pee again. then when im drying my hands i have to pee AGAIN. i drink lots of waters and liquids.
im 12 btw.

How to prevent and reduce lines and "wrinkles" on your lips?

admin October 6th, 2010

I am young, but I know early wrinkles result from bad skin care at a young age. Are there any ways to prevent lines on your lips before it actually happens? Are there any local products or home remedies for it?

Great skin care tips anyone.?

admin August 23rd, 2010

0hkay, I have weird skin :/

I’m fifteen, & I already have some pretty defined wrinkles, especially the "parentheses" around my lips.
Also, where my tear ducts are on my eyes, to a litle under my cheekbone there’s long lines :C
I don’t know why this happened, people tell me it’s from laughing a lot.
& I do laugh, A LOT.
What could have caused these wrinkles so young.?
I don’t have the best skin care for myself, I realize this, & I’ve been trying to fix that.

&, everyone has little hairs on their face, but sometimes I look furry. Is it because of my foundation.? Am I not wearing the right one, or do I need to like, wax my whole frikken’ face.?

I also have freckles, which I don’t mind as much, but is there anyway to prevent getting more.? I don’t have a lot, & I don’t want a lot.

Also, my face get’s red in the weirdest places. What could I use to get rid of/cover up that redness.?

Please, I’m really, really insecure. & I want to do something to make me feel & look better.

If you have any make-up & skin tips, please, please share.

<3 Thank you.

For skin care freaks?

admin August 17th, 2010

I have always took care of my skin, moisturizing, being very gentle on it. I’m only 22 years old and my dentist ruined my lips! Its been 2 weeks since he stretched them really far and the wrinkles that he caused has not went away.

Skin experts tell us to be gentle on our delicate skin areas because you can damage the elasticity so I think he damaged some of the elasticity in my lips because of how hard he stretched them.

What do you think?

Question about wrinkle creams?

admin July 10th, 2010

OK, this is a little embarrassing but I’ve been accepting the fact that I’m getting old and I’d like to find a face cream or something that helps minimize the little wrinkles I’m getting around my eyes and mouth. (I was a smoker and regrettably I have the little puckers around my lips). Does anyone know of a great product? I’ve tried looking but there are SO MANY out there and I don’t know where to start. I have sensitive skin, so something that won’t break me out … ??

Ideas for new skin care for over age 40?

admin June 29th, 2010

I’ve just used a hodge podge of skin care products over the years. I’m looking to go with a particular line but prefer it not be extremely expensive. I have normal skin, large pores, some wrinkles near eyes, neck and lips but otherwise pretty healthy skin.

Also have blood vessels that stand out over my cheekbones just at the outside corner my eyes. Any ideas on how to cover these up!

Could someone recommend an eye cream and face cream?

for ages 40+ – How do I even BEGIN to find help for my wrinkles? Is skin care really this sea of confusion?

admin April 8th, 2010

Starting to get lots of wrinkles on cheeks/eyes/lips/sides of mouth. Sephora wants me to spend 0 on an effective moisturizer ALONE! Don’t know where to start.
