How to contain acne for sensitive skin?

admin August 12th, 2011

I have really bad acne. Mostly blackheads that won’t go away. I have used Skinid, neutrogena, PanOxyl, and proactiv. None of them work for me. I went to a dermatologist and they gave me a anti-yeast treatment. It doesn’t seem to work. I have also used Clean & Clear. I get really bad breakouts and I have one right now, which is really bad. Like impossible to handle. Do you have any treatments for sensitive skin. My skin tends to dry up and peel. PLEASE HELP!

bad acne, dry skin…What products should i use?

admin July 22nd, 2011

I used to have really bad acne so i have some scars, also my skin has been dry dry lately so i started using this vasoline for men face and body lotion on my face, it just makes my face oily and now i am breaking out pretty bad. What are some exfoliating products and moisturizing products for men? I would rather not mess around with homemade things. Also is there any other products i should be using for good skin care? I also have very large pores and 3 pretty large wrinkles on my forhead.

I have been using my moms body moisturizer and exfoliating cream the last few days and i really can tell and see the difference already but I want something for guys.
Yeah i know it wont make me into a girl, but i don’t like smelling like a girl.

Does using firming night face lotion have a negative effect young women?

admin June 14th, 2011

I am 19 years old and I had bad acne. I went to the dermatologist which work miracles on my face but now my skin is really dry.

I use normal Olay lotion during the day and I thought it would be nice to use a night lotion. I read that using anti-wrinkle lotion is bad at a young age but is using the Olay firming cream at night bad also? Are they the same things? I really don’t know much about this stuff other than it makes my face feel great.

Major wrinkles and acne at 20?

admin April 18th, 2011

Since coming to college I have suddenly started having terrible issues with my face. After just two years, I have really bad wrinkles under my eyes (huge, kind of deep laugh lines– there are some around my mouth to, but they are just single lines) and have started breaking out again (I have not had bad acne since sophomore year of high school).

I admit that while only 40min away from my hometown, the weather around my school is really dry, but I am just surprised that my once decent skin is now in such horrible shape (it can be like dry/peely yet oily at the same time). I haven’t really changed my facial care routine since highschool until recently when how terrible I look kept being brought to my attention by close family…

I started washing my face twice a day, using a different exfoliating scrub and using an oil free night cream. I also use a day cream which I add sunscreen to occasionally depending on the weather (which I did back in high school as well).

My diet is generally pretty healthy and balanced, and I do not smoke, drink, or party… I mostly just do homework. I admit that last semester I got very little sleep since I had a large course load. I also only work out like three times a week now as opposed to everyday.

There are like two local dermatologists, but no one recommends them, and I have not been able to find a decent one outside of the city… If anyone has any advice for me that would be kind of awesome, sorry if I kind of wrote a lot, I am just really concerned I guess. Oh, and if anyone happens to know any amazing dermatologists in the bay area, please tell me.
Oh, I do only exfoliate once every three days, I just wash my face twice a day.

23 years old.Best face care product?

admin March 23rd, 2011

Im 23 years old. I have acne prone skin. Not heavy. But ill like get 1 or 2 pimples a week. Andof coursee, a couple more when i have my period. Nothing major. But I already went through bad acne when I was between 11-13. And suddenly now in my 20’s I start breaking out again! I’ve been usingBurt’s bees Acne Solutions, and it seems to work OK. But its kinda pricey. $$$
Anyway I looked up Clean and Clear and Neutrogena on line. And they both seem good and affordable. But I noticed Clean and Clear is more for teens, I think. And Neutrogena has more products for women.
I also want to start taking care of aging. I use to sun bathe a LOT. I don’t anymore. But I really want to take care of my skin now. I don’t have any wrinkles yet, but want to start getting on an anti wrinkle treatment. A friend of mine told me now is the time to start, before I get any.
Clean and Clear had a lot of acne and moisturizing products which was great. But Neutrogena had the same thing and also mixed with anti wrinkle treatments. I think I like Neutrogena more.
But I don’t know much about all that. If anyone has a little more experience:
What brand is better? Which products should I use? Is there a better and affordable brand I can use?

Acne treatment plan – causing extremely dry skin.?

admin January 3rd, 2011

Background INfo: Pretty bad acne scattered around my face, 15 yrs old 125 lbs 5′7.5 male

I went to the derm and was prescribed an antibiotic pill for morning and night and Bensaclin (topical gel) and Retin-a (.5%). I am pale and have pretty sensitive skin.

Third day using the products, and I know it takes 6-8 weeks to see any result, but w ill I get results… anyways..

I get home, wash face, take a shower, get out, look at my face and its dried out and flakey all over and "peely" like I am recovering from a BAD sunburn look. I’ve been using a moisturizer TWICE a day to keep my face not too dried out and its not cutting it.

Is this normal? Should I start using 1 product a day (derm said to do if it gets too bad)? Or is this a common effect when you start using retin-a?*

I also use a very non drying cleaner for my face.. any advice in general on anything i’ve said in this post would be appreciated.. Also keep in mind im going to school (all boys though:P) thanks!

What kind of treatments are effective in relieving acne scars, and skin darkening?

admin December 21st, 2010

I had a very bad acne breakout, however, almost all of it is gone, but it has left some scars, and I occasionally still get annoying pimples. Also, I got darker over the summer, and it kind of ruined my light skin complexion. Is there a treatment that can relieve all of these conditions?

Acne treatment for sensitive skin? PanOxyl users especially wanted?

admin October 27th, 2010

Hi! I have really bad acne, and I use PanOxyl right now (it’s a 10% benzoyl peroxide cleanser). I also moisturize so I won’t get those icky flakiessss. I know for clear skin, you’re supposed to do a cleanser, exfoliator, and moisturizer. My skin is not clearing up, and I was thinking of adding the exfoliator like you’re supposed to, but I’m just worried it’ll make my skin really sensitive, flaky and irritated(it gets irrittated easily). What should I do? I want clear skinnn already!!!

Acne Treatment for Sensitive Skin?

admin October 26th, 2010

I have sensitive skin, like if I stay in the sun too long I will get a second degree burn skin… >.>

So I had acne for.. 3 years, I am 13 right now. At first I used Proactiv, DOES NOT WORK FOR ME.. I started breaking out even more. Then after 3 months of using it, I stopped. A long time after that my dad took me to go see a dermatologist, didn’t work either. I went for an entire year and still had bad acne. It was costly and with the economy we can’t spend our money too much.

I am looking for an EFFICIENT and SOMEWHAT CHEAP product/s. REMEMBER I HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN!

Skin peeling every day…acne treatment the cause?

admin October 11th, 2010

Im a 16 year old male that uses ‘Nature’s Cure – For Males Only’ acne treatment. What you do is basically chew a tablet in the morning, and a tablet in the afternoon, aswell as using the cream that comes with it twice a day.

I have been using it for 3 months already, and its worked wonders already. The thing is, that these past two weeks, I started noticing that my skin is peeling everytime I come out the shower every morning. I have been wondering if its the cream, as it says that peeling is a side effect in the box. I read it and it said if peeling does occur, reduce the usage of the cream to every day or every other day.

Ever since I first got it though, i’ve been using it only once every day (at night. I wait till it dries and I fall asleep) and I wash it off when I take a shower in the mornings for school. The peeling has started a week ago and I don’t know what to do.

Should I discontinue the usage of the cream? I certainly don’t want to, as I have bad acne and it works wonders for me, but I must stop using it if its damaging my skin.

Any advice?

what should my skin care routine be?

What is the best treatment and make-up foundation for severe acne and oily skin?

admin August 12th, 2010

I have oily skin and bad acne…I have tried seriously everything from Pro-active to clean and clear to neutrogena to noxema to arbonne and everything in between. Salycilic acid and benzoyl peroxide do not work for me. I was looking into emu oil, but i dont know if it would make my skin even more oily or not, and if it would look good under foundation. I wear make-up as well, and since my face gets really oily quickly, i was looking for a good foundation that covers up blemishes and also does not look oily. I guess I am looking for suggestions about any face washes, creams, makeup or treatments that work well. I am a college student, and I do not have all that much money, so I usually do not get real expensive stuff. Thanks!
